Some quotes:

“MyVocal can be defined as a new service that will empower you to enjoy audio content of every denomination on your mobile. This includes not only podcasts and news but also audio magazines and interactive voice services on the whole. Such a service would work wonderfully for commuters and travelers, but I think it can be put to great use in endless scenarios.”

“The way this is instrumented is actually very direct and simple, and that is where the actual strength of this service lies. You see, using MyVocal entails little more than making a call. All you have to do is dial up your local MyVocal number in order to arrive at an audio portal where you will be able to consume any piece of audio content you might be interested in.”

For Immediate Release

September 22, 2009 — San Diego, California US. — MyVocal, a developer of the innovative mobile services and applications, announced today the release of their mobile audio content service for commuters.

MyVocal’s new mobile content service brings various spoken audio content to millions of mobile users worldwide. It provides access to podcasts, audio books and magazines, streaming radio and various interactive services through any phone, even a very basic one. Users can control the service with simple spoken commands which makes MyVocal an ideal on-demand mobile radio available anytime, anywhere.

“MyVocal is a simple application that can change your life,” says Alex Patsko, CEO & Founder of MyVocal. “It helps you listen to any of your content instead of reading it – while commuting and using just your cellphone. With MyVocal you can use your cellphone to listen to anything you can think of – your newsfeeds, documents, articles, emails, even YouTube presentations…. We believe that with MyVocal you can utilize your commute time more wisely, get more things done while on the go, and eventually spend more time with your family and friends.”

MyVocal provides a complete white-label solution for content publishers. It takes only a few minutes to add RSS or XML feed to MyVocal, and then create a branded mobile portal with audio streaming functionality and a full-scale voice portal. MyVocal also helps publishers produce a high-quality spoken audio version of their content, as well as monetize their mobile audience through a mix of business models which include audio advertising and mobile micro-payments. MyVocal is also releasing over 60 API that will deliver the power of a MyVocal service to various 3rd party applications.

“MyVocal is a fascinating consumer service and a comprehensive solution for media companies. The service brings spoken audio to mobile devices and the Internet, mixes published and user-generated content, and provides a variety of content sourcing and monetization options,” said Chris Shipley, Executive Producer of the DEMO Conferences. “This is a company to watch!”

About MyVocal

MyVocal is a developer of an innovative mobile content service that enables listening to any spoken audio content using any mobile phone. Users of MyVocal can control their personalized service with simple voice commands, customize their content on the mobile phone or over the web, and share their content on Twitter and Facebook. MyVocal also helps publishers address their commuting audience by providing a comprehensive set of tools and API for mobile content distribution and monetization.
Today we have released another cool feature - now you can “retweet” any audio story simply by pressing 8 on your phone while listening that story. Do not worry - after the “retweet”, MyVocal will continue playing the story from the point when you pressed 8. And if you haven’t configured your twitter account integration, MyVocal will tell you about that too.

That’s all for today, but we are about to make few big announcements - so stay tuned!

Few weeks ago we have introduced “publish by email” - the easiest way to add new episodes to your podcast published on MyVocal.

How to do that?
1. Create an email with name of the new episode in Subject
2. Attach an mp3 file or just put enter text in the body of the email (text will be converted into speech)
3. Email it to login.pin.title_id@myvocal.com where “login” is your MyVocal login, “pin” is your pin-code (can be set up or modified in Settings) and “title_id” is the ID of the title assigned for any title which you publish.
4. In few minutes you will receive notification that your episode is published!

Important: make sure of course that you ARE the publisher (the owner) of the show, otherwise your email will be bounced back.

Enjoy!

Like most of the media and web companies this season we are Twitter-minded. We thought we can help you guys bridge your Twitter and MyVocal universes. It works pretty simple - just activate Twitter integration (with your Twitter login and pass) in Configure and select one of two options - to twit each time you listen something or to post your “daily audio stream” - all stories you have listened in a given day.

Second thing which you may find useful is the MyVocal twitter-stream. Follow @myvocal to be informed about the content updates. But beware - there are A LOT of of updates every 20-30 minutes!

Enjoy and stay tuned!

How often are you updating your podcasts? Ever forgot updating your feeds before jumping into the car? With MyVocal you do not need to prepare your trip - your content is just a phone call away!

Build your Favorites selection on MyVocal and fetch your favorite content with any device - mp3 players, iPhone or ANY PHONE, even a fixed line!

How to add content to your favorites? Simple! First, you need to have a user account. When you sign in on www.myvocal.com you will see a content discovery page with your playlist and favorites on your right.

Just drag&drop any title into your favorites tree - system will automatically assign the shortcode which you can use to fetch corresponding channel when you dial into any of the access numbers.

My favorites, specifically, look like this:

With Favorites of MyVocal you can easily run through your favorite content: you can either listen to your updates channel by channel, or simply look through a “meta-feed” of all recent stories. Here is how it looks on my iphone (iphone.myvocal.com):

Try this out and let us know what you think.
